Chia Seed Breakfast is yummy!! They are words I never ever thought I would say. Those that know me personally will know about my food texture and visual issues. Soaked chia seeds look like frog spawn or tapioca to me and the thought of eating that would just turn my stomach. However, my SMASH crew challenged me to find a breakfast that was based on porridge or eggs. Let the experimenting commence.
I had heard so much about Chia Seed Puddings/Breakfasts so I thought I better see what the fuss is all about. The problem is that I would never recommend any food to anyone unless I have tried it myself. So, I made up a breakfast popped it in the fridge and waited. I was so nervous trying it as all I could think of was frog spawn but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised.
There is no popping of the little seeds – like the way tapioca does, and it is a really enjoyable dish. So much so, that I have had it for breakfast for the past 2 days. Well I did have to perfect the recipe ๐
My SMASH it crew also loved it when they got samples of it at the SMASH it class on Wednesday night. It was a hit!! Whoohooo! I also gave them samples of highly nutritious protein shakes, packed full of hidden ingredients!
Now there are lots of options for breakfasts. Would you like the recipe? It is the easiest thing you will ever make for your breakfast (or even a dessert). All done in under a minute.
